A new cardiac CT with step and shoot technology, the first of its kind in Iraq will help to spot heart problems that were previously undetectable and enable the doctors to explore the best ways to treat heart disease and other cardiac conditions.

With the new machine we will be able to diagnose patients with angina pectoris much sooner and potentially prevent the serious consequences of their heart condition because the new machine takes large numbers of X-ray pictures, and combines them using computer technology to produce the final detailed images and deliver clear 3D pictures of the heart, allowing earlier detection of heart problems and giving doctors the maximum possible aid in detecting signs of abnormalities or disease.

In the case of cancer, it will help us see how far it has spread. It will also help us pick up new patterns of abnormality it provides detailed and clear 3D images of an entire organ, including the heart and brain.

The system is also able to provide greater dimension and depth across a range of clinical areas such as whole brain perfusion, head and neck angiography, full field of view lung studies, virtual colonoscopy and abdominal and pelvic imaging.
